RCA SMALL WONDER
SIMPLIFIES MOVIE-MAKING AND SHARING WITH POCKET-SIZED VIDEO CAMCORDER DESIGNED
FOR BUSY MOMS
EZ201 Now Available
at Circuit City Stores INDIANAPOLIS, May 7, 2007 – Just
in time for Mother's Day, RCA Audio/Video announces nationwide retail
availability at Circuit City of the new EZ201, the affordable digital camcorder
that makes it even easier and more convenient to capture life's important
moments. Perfect for busy moms, the compact EZ201 offers a simple way to record
and share video of the kids' soccer games, birthday parties, and other
spontaneous memories – without tapes, discs, cumbersome batteries, or
complicated instructions.

With popular elements
that make the RCA Small Wonder camcorders easy and convenient to use, the new
EZ201 offers an SD memory card expansion slot (to more than double or triple
recording time), the innovative RCA MemoryManager™ video sharing application,
and a convenient flip-out display that even allows the person shooting the video
to be part of the fun. About the size of a deck of cards and weighing only 5.25
ounces, the EZ201 is compact enough to take anywhere and is perfect for
spontaneously capturing every day experiences. Available soon at thousands of
retail stores, the affordable EZ201 also carries an equally lightweight
suggested retail price of $129.
"The EZ201 Small Wonder represents the
next evolution in simplifying video recording, editing, archiving,
and
sharing. We've listened to our consumers' needs, and have created a product that
offers the perfect video recording solution for a myriad of users – anyone who
needs a convenient, affordable, and pocket-sized video recording solution," said
Dan Collishaw, Chief Operating Officer of RCA Audio/Video. "We are committed to
providing consumers with features that make products easier – not harder – to
use and to enjoy."
Share Videos with a Box.net Web Link
To provide expanded sharing abilities, the EZ201 is compatible with
Box.net (
http://www.box.net/) a
secure online file storage and sharing service. A virtual storage space that can
be accessed from any computer, Box.net makes it simple for RCA users to upload
and save their favorite Small Wonder video clips, then easily share them with
friends and family. To assist in starting their own virtual video libraries,
Box.net is offering EZ201 owners 1GB of free storage space, equivalent to about
eight hours of recorded footage. Since dozens of video clips can be saved on
Box.net, users no longer need to worry about e-mailing large attachment files
that can overwhelm some e-mail services. With no additional software required on
the PC, Box.net users can easily distribute video files with the links to the
videos sent over email, in blogs, or on personal websites.
Using the new
on-board Memory Manager™ software, videos can be saved, compressed, and e-mailed
to friends and family, or easily uploaded to Box.net. Users can also trim and
join different video clips into one continuous move file with the Memory
Manager's new simple editing capabilities. Another new feature, EZ Grab™,
enables the user to select any paused frame in any video and save it as a single
.JPG or .BMP image to share with friends and family.
So simple that a
child can use it, the RCA Small Wonder MPEG-4 digital camcorder functions with
one-button recording. Consumers can play, pause, delete, rewind, and fast
forward clips on the color 1.5-inch LCD screen, which also flips out 180
degrees. The EZ201 offers up to an hour of recording with its on-board flash
memory, which can be expanded up to five hours with the addition of an SD memory
card (sold separately) that will slide easily into the unit's memory slot. Two
standard "AA" batteries provide up to two hours of continuous use (or more than
seven hours with optional lithium batteries), making the EZ201 ideal for
vacations and travel. A convenient tripod mount makes it easy to insure steady
shots.
Pooch Power To promote the availability of the new
Small Wonder, RCA is calling for all dog owners to show off their pooch's
talents in its
Wonder Woofs contest. To enter, consumers need to visit
www.mysmallwonder.com/contest to submit a 30-second video clip of their dog's
best entertaining performance. The winning video that receives the most views
and comments will be awarded a grand prize weekend trip for two to New York City
– including passes to the star-studded July 14 Broadway Barks event for the
benefit of homeless animals. Complete contest rules can be found here:
http://www.rcawonderwoofs.com/rules.aspx.
The RCA Small
Wonder EZ201 digital camcorder ships with a full accessory kit including a wrist
strap, a soft carrying pouch, two AA batteries, a USB extender cable, and an A/V
output cable to allow easy connectivity to a television.
